Trentino-Alto Adige – Trento,Fontana di Nettuno (Trento, Neptune’s Foutain)

Italian autonomous region, provided with special status, located in north-eastern, with capital city Trento, the most northern Italian region and almost entirely mountainous. The mountain ranges are high up to 2700-3900 m. The whole region is rich in forests of conifers and beech trees, streams and flowers, while in other areas there are many meadows and grazing lands where there is a very high percentage of alpine species of herbs and mushrooms, and where local farmers lead the cattle to the pasture. Also here we find the first Italian lake, the Lake of Garda, hinge between the three regions, Lombardy (Brescia), Veneto (province of Verona) and Trentino-Alto Adige (province of Trento). There are several areas of protected woodland, which cover about a fifth of the entire territory, with the Stelvio National Park, one of the oldest italian natural parks, created for the protection of flora and fauna. The area is well known and appreciated all over the world for the different and multiple types of wine, including the most known abroad , the Müller-Thurgau and the Gewürztraminer, the Cabernet from South Tyrol and the Trentino Merlot. In the kitchen, apples (to prepare the classic strudel), speck (typical cold cut, from Südtirol ), mushrooms and polenta as much as one likes, with tasty different preparations and strongly flavourful recipes.
